Understand the Kirklees collection arrangements
Kirklees’ bulky service is for domestic properties rather than businesses. Items must be accessible outside the property; collection crews do not enter homes, garages or outbuildings. Upholstered seating and other items can be collected on separate days, so check the confirmation for your actual collection schedule.

Another route to consider
Kirklees recycling centres require vehicle registration. The council identifies Emerald Street in Huddersfield as one of the sites accepting booked household DIY waste. Check the material, booking and vehicle rules before visiting; household sites do not provide a disposal route for a commercial collector’s load.

What to tell a private collector
- Explain whether items are indoors or already at an outside collection point.
- Describe steps and the distance to suitable vehicle access.
- If you need indoor carrying or a combined clearance, make that requirement explicit before comparing offers.
Compare offers for your actual job
Add clear photos, quantities, the collection address and preferred dates. Eligible collectors choose whether to bid. Compare their total price, collection window, profile and exclusions; the lowest bid does not win automatically.
Choose the offer that suits you and review all details before paying. Your dashboard keeps the confirmed booking, updates, completion evidence and available collection records together.
Choose the right starting point
- Furniture removal
- House and garage clearance
- Business and office clearance
- Suspected hazardous materials
